Extremist settlers renew storming Al Aqsa compound

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Ramallah, June 6 (Petra) -- Groups of Israeli extremist settlers early Wednesday renewed stormed of Al-Aqsa mosque / Haram Al Sharif in the occupied holy city of Jerusalem, a Palestinian source confirmed.

The General Director of the Islamic Awqaf and al-Aqsa Affairs, Sheikh Azzam Al-Khatib, told Petra's reporter in Ramallah that today's raid by the Jewish settlers was carried from Al- Magharebah Gate under heavy protection of Israeli army and police.

Al-Khatib noted that the settlers provocatively toured the mosque, while Muslim worshipers, the Mosque's guards and al- Murabitun peacefully confronted them chanting Allahu Akbar (God is Greater).

These incursions come as hundreds of Muslim worshipers intensified their presence inside Al Aqsa mosque in the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan.
