Qatar Museums (QM) is inviting members of the public —children, youth and adults alike—to join its team of art educators for the final Laundromat workshops taking place on Thursday, May 31, at the Fire Station's Education Studio. The workshops, which take place from 9am-2pm and from 8pm-11pm, complement the Laundromat exhibition currently showing at the Fire Station by international artist and activist Ai Weiwei. Selected artworks created in these workshops will be exhibited at the Fire Station reception area on Thursday and Friday (March 31-June 1).

Ending on June 1, Laundromat documents and shines the spotlight on the devastating experience of refugees in the Idomeni camp in Greece. The powerful exhibition, which addresses the ongoing humanitarian crisis in a timely and relevant manner, has elicited a strong emotional response, motivating viewers to create their own works of art, informed by the subject of the Laundromat exhibition.

As a cultural and an educational institution, QM is committed to providing dialogue and fostering creative expression. Interactive guided tours and a variety of art workshops inspired by the exhibition have also been offered.
