Kuwait welcomes Iraq's Sadr
(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Kuwait's Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah welcomed leader of the Sadrist Movement Muqtada al-Sadr during the latter's visit to the country.
Sadr media bureau mentioned Tuesday that Muqtada al-Sadr headed to Kuwait in an unannounced visit following an invitation from state officials.
This visit falls under boosting bilateral ties, said the bureau.
Anadolu Agency reported from a reliable source that the visit to Kuwait falls under pursuits to fill the gap that resulted between Iraq and the Arabian Gulf countries following the Iraqi invasion to Kuwait in 1990.
