Oman- Great opportunity to learn new things, says Vaishali

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Vaishali Jesrani, the women's cricket coordinator of Oman Cricket, said that her participation in an exhibition match to support a global initiative to promote gender equality in London, UK, on Wednesday will be 'a great opportunity to learn new things' as she plays along with many international stars from across the world.

Vaishali left for London as a representative of Oman Cricket for the T20 match that is being held to observe World Gender Equality Day.

She has been picked to play for FairBreak Global XI against Sir John Paul Getty XI at Wormsley Park in England.

'This will be the first time that 12 women cricketers from 11 countries will be together on one platform promoting a worthy cause. I am honoured to a part of such an illustrious team,' said Vaishali.

'I am looking forward to learning new things from so many international stars in our team. The fact that the game is being held to promote a great cause gives all the players a lot of satisfaction,' she added.

Vaishali is the first Omani player to be a part of such an international event. The FairBreak Global XI is being coached by Vasbert Drakes, former West Indies player, Geoff Lawson, former Australian fast bowler, and Damien Wright, and will be managed by Saba Nasim.

The John Paul Getty Foundation has never fielded a women's team but its men's team has included star players like Brian Lara and Shane Warne in the past.
