PA: major peace plan 'doomed to failure' without Palestine support

(MENAFN) The Palestinian Authority (PA) has raised concerns over the "Deal of the Century" for peace, saying that it is "doomed to failure without full Palestinian support."

PA spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeina noted that "peacemaking doesn't require deals or ideas, but a genuine belief in peace as a way to end conflict."

The spokesman added that peace can only be reached by "a just and comprehensive settlement based on past UN resolutions calling for an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital."

In his statement, spokesman Abu Rudeina emphasized that "this must be the beginning and end of any peace plan."
