Tunisia eyes closer parliamentary cooperation with Kuwait


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TUNIS, May 22 (KUNA) -- Tunisia's Assembly of the Representatives of the People has expressed interest in boosting its relationship and partnership with Kuwait's' National Assembly, a Kuwaiti diplomat said Tuesday.
The Tunisian Parliament also called to boost bilateral cooperation with Kuwait in various fields, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Tunisia Ali Al-Dhafiri told KUNA.
Al-Dhafiri made his remarks after meeting earlier with Tunisian Parliament Speaker Mohamed Ennaceur in Tunis.
During their meeting, Al-Dhafiri handed the Tunisian Parliament Speaker an invitation letter from his Kuwaiti counterpart Marzouq Al-Ghanim.
Ennaceur welcomed Al-Ghanim's invitation and expressed his aspiration to visit the country as soon as possible to discuss boosting cooperation, enhancing legislative action, and benefiting from Kuwait's long parliamentary expertise, said Al-Dhafiri.
He also expressed his pride in his country's close relationship and partnership with Kuwait, pointing out Kuwaiti National Assembly's Sixth Parliamentary Friendship Group's visit to Tunisia in April.
The visit was very fruitful, Al-Dhafiri noted, mentioning the Group's talks with various Tunisian legislative and executive authorities, in addition to meeting with President Beji Caid Essebsi. (end) ksj.ma
