In 2017, Kyrgyzstan exported fruit and berry crops to the EAEU countries in the amount of $157 million, Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation Nurbek Murashev said at a meeting of the faction "Republic – ATA Zhurt", "Kabar" news agency reported.

Regarding the export of agricultural products, Murashev said mainly dairy products are exported from the country, and since May 2018, the export of fruits and vegetables has been started. For example, in 2017, its exports amounted to $157 million, of which $74 million were exported to Kazakhstan, and the rest of the products were exported to Russia.

Speaking about the state of agriculture, First Deputy Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov focused on the implementation of the project "Financing of agriculture", aimed at supporting agricultural producers, financing of leasing projects, and preparation of irrigation network for the growing season in the country.

When answering the question of MP Umbetaly Kydyraliev about the implementation of 18 technical regulations, Minister Nurbek Murashev said in connection with the accession of Kyrgyzstan to the EAEU, technical regulations were adopted, 8 of which are currently enforced.

"The agreement on the construction of 8 laboratories with Kazakhstan was terminated, so the budget for this year provides funds for their construction. Now veterinary laboratories in Bishkek and Osh are fully functioning, as well as phytosanitary laboratories operate in the Talas and Issyk-Kul regions. We attract private laboratories in the markets, and we are working on their accreditation," the Minister said.

The MP Parhat Tulendiyev asked what work is done to increase livestock and to enhance yields. Questions were raised about the activities of the processing enterprises of the food industry. Members of the faction stressed that despite the fact that Kyrgyzstan is an agricultural country with a large production potential, the real situation in the sphere of food production and processing remains precarious.

The MPs expressed criticism to the work of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation, which should carry out reforms to ensure that the agricultural sector has become an effectively developing industry, providing the domestic market with quality food. Members of the faction stressed the need to implement work which would expand export opportunities.
