Yemeni Government Reveals Looting of Humanitarian Aid

Aden, Ramadan 05, 1439, May 21, 2018, SPA --The Yemeni government has uncovered looting being committed by Iranian-backed Houthi militias of humanitarian aid to Yemen from United Nations relief agencies.
Yemeni Information Minister Muammar Al-Eryani said that the government has obtained a confirmed information from the capital Sana'a and areas controlled by the militias forcing the heads of the neighborhoods to approve new lists of families benefiting from the relief programs only for their followers, the families of victims and the injured recruited by the coup militias in addition to their establishment of a whole set of false institutions and associations under the umbrella of distribution of humanitarian aid, and looting and selling this aid in local markets.
Minister Al-Eryani warned of the escalation of looting of humanitarian aid by Houthi Militias, according to the Yemeni news agency, especially after the international organizations had presented their programs adopted at the Geneva Conference, calling for adopting clear mechanisms able to deliver relief aid to the beneficiaries of the millions of those affected by the Houthi coup against the legitimate government, putting an end to looting the public treasury, tampering with public revenues of the state, not paying salaries of employees, and drawing the country in a fierce war serving Iranian agendas.
