Jordanian medical team performs surgeries in Gaza
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, May 20 (Petra) - Under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, instructed a specialized team of surgeons from the Royal Medical Services to perform a number of complex surgeries in Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza Strip.
"A number of surgeries have been performed on a number of wounded people, including orthopedic, arterial and plastic surgeries," stated Anesthesiologist and Intensive Care Specialist, Dr. Jamal Al-Rahaima.
He added that the medical team will classify the cases according to their degree of severity, and that some will be transferred from Al-Shifa Hospital to the Jordan field hospital Gaza 53, if necessary.
Al-Rahaima note that critical and difficult cases will be transferred to the Royal Medical Services, adding that the medical team will continue its duty towards the people in the Gaza Strip by performing the necessary operations.
The medical team arrived recently in Gaza to support "Gaza 53", and help in providing medical services to the increasing number of patients due to recent events in the Gaza Strip." AJ
