US pathologist calls for making Jordan center for citrus plantation


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, May 20 (Petra)--A U.S. Citrus Pathologist science has called for making Jordan a center for planting citrus with new technologies as well as a gateway to introduce these new products to the Middle East, especially in view of Jordan's geographical location.

In a lecture at the Jordanian Society for Scientific Research, Citrus Pathologist and Founder/CEO of US Citrus and Mani Skaria, reviewed his experience in using new technology to develop the plantation of citrus, adding that his visit to Jordan aims to introduce this new technology to the agricultural sector in the Kingdom.

During the visit, Skaria is expected to meet with a number of specialists, academics as well as officials in the agricultural sector to discuss cooperation in this field. U.S Citrus specializes in the production and marketing of Specialty citrus plants and fruit. It uses a proprietary technology called, Micro-budding for citrus plant production.
