Jordan- Tourism Ministry encourages launch of new air routes

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, May 20 (Petra)- Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Lina Annab affirmed the ministry's efforts to encourage signing of agreements to launch new air routes in order to overcome the difficulty of reaching the Kingdom due to the lack of airlines or the high cost of aviation.

Annab said in a press statement that the ministry and Jordan Tourism Board are encouraging the signing of agreements to launch new airlines, notably the low-cost airline "Ryanair".

She added nine more air routes will be launched to Amman and four others to Aqaba in October in cooperation with "Ryanair", adding that this will add quality to the tourism industry and increase options for travelers wishing to visit the Kingdom.

Annab also emphasized that the ministry seeks to highlight the different types of tourism, focusing mainly on religious, medical tourism, and adventure, while continuing to consider other types of tourism, especially cultural tourism.
