Bahrain: protests against US navy presence, massacre in Gaza

(MENAFN) Thousands of people on Bahrain have taken to the streets to voice their rejection of American marines in the Arab Gulf kingdom and demanded a closure of the US naval base there.

Condemning the late deadly events in Gaza, the protesters shouted slogans in condemnation of Washington's support for the ruling Al Khalifah government.

Similar rallies were held in the villages of Abu Saiba, Shakhurah, al-Daih, Karbabad and Buri, Presstv reported.

Bahrain has been a key ally of the United States for decades and is home to the US Navy's Fifth Fleet.
