Syria: army continues liberating Damascus' Southern part
(MENAFN) On Saturday, the Syrian Army troops continued to strike the remaining strongholds of IS in Hajar al-Aswad region in the Southern part of Damascus province, seizing control over more areas.
The army men, backed up by the artillery units, stormed ISIL's positions Northwest of Hajar al-Aswad and managed to advance towards al-Urobah street and al-Wasim Grand Mosque, taking control over several points.
Meanwhile, a field source reported that the army's advances North of Hajar al-Aswad and South of Yarmouk Camp have been slowed down due to the density of residential areas in the region, and that the army tries to avoid battle in residential areas.
In a similar development on Friday the army, led by their 42nd Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division and 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard, took the battle to the remaining ISIL terrorists in Hajar al-Aswad, and seized more grounds from the terrorist group after hours of fighting.
