Oman- 774 held for Labour Law violations


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The weekly report of the joint inspection team at the Ministry of Manpower (MoM) stated that 774 workers violated the Labour Law between May 5 and 12 this year.

These included commercial workers (643), farm workers (59), housemaids (72) and their equivalents, stated a press release. MoM stated that 764 of these workers were arrested by the inspection teams. Of these 401 were absconding workers, 336 retrenched workers and 27 did not have any IDs.

The Governorate of Muscat registered the highest number of violations during the same period with 449 violators, followed by the Governorate of North Batinah (106).

On the other hand, the ministry also registered a total of 511 violators who were deported to their countries for violating the provisions of the Omani Labour Law.
