Egypt records 11.6 percent boost in expats remittances


(MENAFN) Egypt has seen an 11.6 percent boost in its remittance from expatriates, reaching USD2 billion in February of this year.

The figures have been revealed in a recent statement of which the Central Bank of Egypt issued on the matter.

The Egyptian central bank also pointed out in its statement that remittances reached USD1.8 billion last year during the same period.

CBE confirmed earlier the overall remittances from expatriates to have recorded a 24.1 percent increase to USD3.4 billion during the first quarter of financial year 2017/2018, reaching USD17.3 billion compared to the same period in 2017.
