World's toughest obstacle race Tough Mudder to be held in Oman

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The world's toughest endurance race series, Tough Mudder, will be held in Oman on November 30, announced Sabco Sports, the organising partner for the event.

With a multi-year international licensing partnership with the Tough Mudder brand, two events will be held in Muscat and Salalah.

Speaking about getting the Tough Mudder to Muscat, Nic Cartwright, managing director of Sabco Sports, said, 'Obstacle race is a fast-growing sport and people in Oman like obstacle races.'

He added that the allure of this race lies in it being the 'toughest race on the planet' which makes it 'pretty cool to participate'.

It's a teamwork-focused, epic-obstacle-crammed, and muddy fun-filled challenge.

The unique experience tests participants' toughness and stamina. In the sultanate, the event will be categorised into 'Tough Mudder 5K' for adults and the 'Mini Mudder' for children.

Oman's terrain, which is unlike any other in the GGC region, plays to its advantage in hosting the race here, added Cartwright.

The Muscat event is going to take place in the heart of the city's emerging urban development Madinat al Irfan which encompasses the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre - being developed by the venue partner, Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran).

Tough Mudder is a global phenomenon with more than 3mn global participants across five continents and is one of the world's fastest-growing athletic activities.
