Sellimi named new coach of Al Khor
(MENAFN- Gulf Times) QNB Stars League side Al Khor appointed Adel Sellimi as their coach. Tunisian Sellimi succeeded his compatriot Nassif al-Bayawi, who has been named as the new coach of Al Kharaitiyat, replacing Yasser Sebaei.
The Knights started the season under Frenchman Laurent Banide before al-Bayawi took over the reins following a series of negative results.
Al Khor Sports Club president Hassan Juma al-Mohannadi presided over the ceremony, where Sellimi signed a one-season contract. The team management thanked the services rendered by al-Bayawi and wished him success with Al Kharaitiyat.
Al Khor finished eighth in this season's QNB Stars League with 24 points.
Sellimi became the coach of Al Markhiya, who were relegated to the Second Division after finishing at bottom of the table, when The Oryxes parted ways with Qatari coach Yousef Adam following their 2-3 loss to Al Kharaitiyat in Week 16 of the QNB Stars League.
Sellimi has coached some Tunisian clubs and had technically been involved with his national team.
During his illustrious career as a striker, he played for top Tunisian side Club Africain, French club Nantes and German side Freiburg.
