Hassan wins mixed 10m pistol gold


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Ali Hassan won the mixed 10m pistol gold medal at the Qatar Cup Shooting and Archery Championship at the Losail Ranges.
The second place went to Dana al-Mubarak and the third place to Nusra Mohamed.
Hassan said the mixed competition was quite special for him.
'Ever since I started training this season, my aim was to win the gold medal and I succeeded finally. My hard training was the key to the gold medal and I hope to keep raising my level not only in the home events about outside competitions as well, he said.
The 10m pistol event was also held in Junior Men, Junior Women, Youth Boys and Beginners Boys categories.
Ahmed al-Shammari won another title when he topped the Junior Men, beating Misfer al-Marri.
The bronze medal was landed by Abdul Aziz al-Shammari. Al-Shammari had won the men's 25m Rapid Fire Pistol on Saturday.
Doah al-Mohamed bagged the Junior Women's title. She defeated Maha Asabah and Zainab Boufatim, who finished second and third respectively.
In the Youth category, Saleh al-Hakim emerged as the champion. The silver medal was taken by Ali Badr and Sami al-Issawi claimed the last spot on the podium.
Ali al-Farsi won the Beginner's class, beating Ibrahim al-Mohannadi. The bronze medal was pocketed by Mohamed al-Shammari.
Al Anoud al-Naimi, the head of the women's shooting at the Qatar Shooting and Archery Association, congratulated all the winners in the female categories and expressed happiness at the close competition.
