
Oman- MSM records RO100mn turnover in April
Total monthly turnover recorded at the MSM was RO96.4mn in March, RO55mn in February and RO52.9mn in January, according to an Oman News Agency report.
Trading volumes at the MSM also witnessed a sharp rise in April at 628mn shares compared to 480.8mn shares traded in the previous month. Number of monthly transactions also increased to more than 18,000 compared to 16,000 transactions in March.The higher volumes and turnover were supported by remarkable activity at some stocks and the execution of certain transactions coupled with increase in trading of bonds and sukuk.
Among the most traded stocks during April, Ahlibank topped the list in terms of the value of trading with RO24.1mn or 24.2 per cent of total market turnover, followed by Omantel with RO11.5mn and Bank Muscat with RO9.3mn turnover.The shares of 27 companies rose in April 2018 compared to 16 companies which recorded rise in March. Total market capitalisation of the MSM lost RO146.4mn value in April to close at RO17.75bn.
