(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has reaffirmed their support for Qatar as the country makes progress in its preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Talking on the sidelines of a signing ceremony where Qatar Football Association, led by President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed al-Thani, signed a co-operation agreement with their Turkish counterparts, TFF president Yildirim Demiroren and other members also reiterated their confidence in the excellent capacities of the State of Qatar and its cumulative expertise in hosting major events, which qualifies it for staging an ideal World Cup.
QFA president Sheikh Hamad hailed the Turkish praise and stressed his appreciation and support for the Turkish federation in its efforts to develop the game in Turkey and host major sporting events. He also highlighted QFA's readiness to exchange expertise with the Turkish federation.
The Qatari delegation, led by Sheikh Hamad and QFA secretary-general Mansour al-Ansari, toured the facilities of the TFF building, which features halls, hotels and training grounds used by national teams as well as referee and development committees.
The two sides held a meeting, during which they reviewed aspects of mutual co-operation included in the agreement and touched on means of deepening frames of joint work so as to enhance the excellent ties between the two countries at the popular and governmental levels and benefit the game in the two countries.
In addition, the meeting touched on a number of issues of common concern at the level of the participation of both sides in the coming FIFA Congress in Moscow in mid-June.
