Iraq: drive- by gunmen shoot eight civilians dead


(MENAFN) Iraqi officials declared that armed men in two speeding vehicles have fired at civilians close to a town north of Baghdad, leaving over eight people dead and injuring another 13.

Onlookers declared that they have witnessed the gunmen raising the black flag of the Islamic State group.

Two police officers confirmed that the incident took place in a crowded commercial area near Tarmiyah.

The town is nearly 50 kilometers north of Baghdad.
