Lebanon legislative elections to provide impartiality
(MENAFN) Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities Nouhad Machnouk has vowed neutrality to be in place during the approaching legislative elections.
The National News Agency (NNA) cited the minister saying "we stand at a neutral distance from all sides, especially that we represent the Lebanese state."
The statement was made by Minister Machnouk after a meeting of security council was held in the Bekaa town of Zahle.
Machnouk added "our prime responsibility is to practice self-observance, and to allow the electoral deadline to pass as smoothly as municipal elections had passed."
