Tunisia records 19 percent boost in tourists numbers


(MENAFN) Tunisia was confirmed to have seen a 19 percent boost in the number of its tourists, as they reached about 1.7 million visitors from January to April 20.

The country has recorded a high record that gone beyond the number of visitors seen in 2010, the Tunisian Ministry of Tourism noted.

The Tunisian tourism sector is targeting USD1.4 billion in revenues to be reached this year, with over 8 million tourists estimated to make their way to Tunisia, from 7 million seen last year.

The tourism ministry also announced the country to have seen a 52.2 percent rise in European visitors in the first quarter of 2018, as it recorded an increase in tourists from Maghreb by 18.3 percent.
