Gaza suffers from worst medicine shortage in years

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Gaza City, April 28 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip said on Saturday that the Israeli-blockaded coastal territory is reeling from its worst shortage of medicine in over 11 years.

It said in an urgent appeal that more than 50% of medicines and staple medical equipment in the Gaza hospitals and health centers, especially those pertaining to emergencies, were consumed. It said the severe shortages were due to rising Palestinian casualties as more than 7,000 protesters participating in the "Great March of Return" were shot and injured by Israeli forces. SS, AK
