Pakistan- 55% check posts eliminated in Mohmand Agency

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) GHALANAI: The Political administration of Mohmand Agency reported that 9 check posts out of 17 have been abolished from Ekka Ghand to Mamad Gat.
A press release was issued by department of political administration of Mohmand Agency in which it was stated that 9 check posts at connecting routes of main highway have been handed over to political administration.
The Levies Khasadar forces have been assigned the responsibility of 9 check posts on main Highway. However the remaining 8 check posts will be under security forces.
The press release read that the decision of removal of check posts was taken in order to maintain peace in the region and for provision of relief to tribal people.
Rs10 million will be allocated in ADP for check posts of Ekka Ghund and Nuhki Tunnel in which three-way security points will be installed for the betterment of public. This will help ensure smooth flow of traffic after the construction of Express Highway.
The political administration of Mohmand Agency and security forces are working effectively for the safety and relief of tribal persons.
The document also stated that the drivers of vehicles are requested to cooperate with the security officials and Levi Officials to maintain better environment and fulfil their responsibilities.
A few weeks earlier, the Pakistan Army handed over the administrative powers to civil authorities on Tuesday in Lower Dir and Swat.
