12th edition of Milipol Qatar to be held in October

DOHA: The ‘biggest' in terms of participation in the history of the exhibition since its launch, the 12th edition of Milipol Qatar 2018, the international event for homeland security and civil defence, will be held from October 29 to 31, 2018.

The event under the patronage of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani will be held at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center and for the first time the Civil Defence Exhibition and Conference will be incorporated with Milipol Qatar from this year's edition.

It will also feature interactive live shows where exhibitors, visitors and buyers will be able to see directly the latest products and innovations in the industry.

This was announced yesterday in a press conference held at the Ministry of Interior attended by Brigadier Nasser bin Fahad Al Thani, President of the Milipol Qatar Committee; Brigadier Saud Rashid Al Shafi, Asst. Director General of Logistics Directorate at Ministry of Interior; and Muriel Kafantaris, Director of Milipol Exhibitions.

According to a report by leading research firm Frost & Sullivan, the value of the internal security market in the Middle East will rise to $19.7bn by 2022, compared to expectations of $9.6bn this year. In light of this, Milipol Qatar 2018 will help define the business agenda for the sector over the coming years, especially as the countries of the region look forward to using state-of-the-art security solutions to protect their borders.

The exhibition will also host interactive dialogues with informative presentations, case studies and important discussions in the presence of a group of world leaders.

The new addition of the civil defence sector will further strengthen the status of Milipol Qatar as a leading international platform for internal security in the Middle East and will allow companies in a wide range of sectors as well as civil defence and national security stakeholders to discuss the importance of safety and security for the world's population.

Brigadier Nasser bin Fahad Al Thani said that Milipol Qatar 2018 would provide venues for interactive live shows and would be an ideal platform to assess the development and prosperity of the domestic security sector in the Middle East over the next few years.

He emphasized that Qatar has been and remains a major destination for international high-profile exhibitions and conferences, and our hosting of Milipol will be a clear and real proof for it.

Muriel Kafantaris said: 'We were always seeking to add development and innovation to the Milipol Qatar exhibition.

Milipol-Qatar is organised every two years in Qatar, and attracts the largest companies in the public security sector around the world to travel to Qatar.
