 US ambassador to Bahrain meets top official on human trafficking combat
(MENAFN) US Ambassador to Bahrain Justin Hicks Siberell was confirmed to have met Bahraini CEO of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority and Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons, Osama bin Abdulla Al-Absi.
During the meeting, the ambassador addressed the way Bahrain handles human trafficking, which improves its international stance in line with global reports.
Ambassador Siberell further emphasized the support of the US towards tackling human trafficking, which is considered as an international crime.
Al-Absi also talked about Bahrain's attempts in battling the crime along with measures to boost the work environment.
He then pointed to major projects and plans set out to shelter labor rights, such as the Expat Protection and Assistance Centre project.
