Pakistan- Bajaur Super League kicks off with a colourful ceremony


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) KHAR: Bajaur Super League (BSP) cricket tournament was inaugurated at a colourful ceremony at Bajaur Sport Complex on Monday.

Sector Commander North Brigadier Aamir Kayani and Political Agent Aamir Khattak were the chief guests at the inauguration ceremony, while Commandant Bajaur Scouts Colonel Rehman Qadir, BSL Chairman Bahadur Khan, Bajaur Cricket Association president Muhammad Ismail and tribal elders were present on the occasion.

Twenty teams are participating in the mega event and participation of international-level cricketers is also expected in the final stages of the league.

At the inauguration ceremony, songs prepared for the event were presented, while display of gymnastics by local players also got appreciation from the crowd. Brigadier Aamir Kayani formally inaugurated the event by playing a shot.

Political Agent Aamir Khattak said on the occasion that such mega sports events in Bajaur are testimony to the fact that the area people love peace. He said such mega events cannot be organised in all parts of Fata with self-help basis, therefore, the organisers should be encouraged and provided all possible help.

PA said sports activities promote peace and harmony. He said the successful opening of this event has given a message of peace to the world.

The BSL chairman said in his address that the purpose of organising the event was to provide positive entertainment to the Bajaur people. He said the organisers have worked their heart out to make sure that they provide a healthy entertainment to the people and they deserve appreciation for their hard work.
