(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Oman Cricket Club (OOC) Salalah successfully conducted its First Annual Award Night for the season 2017-18. The event was held at Crown Plaza Hotel, Dhofar Ball Room. The teams arrived on time.
Four winners and four runner-up teams from four divisions were invited in full strength and other 19 teams were represented by their captains and managers. All the officiating umpires and sponsors who supported the tournament were present for this grand occasion with Oman Cricket Club Salalah Executive Committee members.
Faisal Ali al Nahdi, director Activities and Sports Development, directorate general Sports Affairs Dhofar governorate was the chief guest for the evening.
Kanak Khimji, chairman, Oman Cricket was the guest of honour and Anil Khimji, director, Khimji Ramdas Group, was the special guest along with Kiran Asher, treasurer, Oman Cricket, Madhu Jesrani, secretary, Oman Cricket, and Vaishali Jesrani, captain, Women's Cricket Oman.
Vaishali welcomed the chief guest and guest of honour with a bouquet on behalf of Oman Cricket Club Salalah. Anil Kumar, secretary, OCC Salalah, invited Axay Mehta, vice chairman OCC Salalah, for the welcome address and Asher to address the gathering. Asher gave a brief about the development of Oman Cricket in Muscat.
Nahdi and Kanak Khimji were invited on stage with Jesrani to gave away the trophies and individual medals to winners and runners-up of D division; Asher gave trophies and medals to C division. Anil Khimji gave away trophies and medals to B Division; Kanak Khimji gave away trophies and medals to A division.
Finally, Nahdi gave the trophies and medals to the Champion of Champion. The teams which received the awards are as follows: A Division - Danube winners, Al Ameen Ayurveda Clinic/Sweets of Oman runner-up; B Division - First Technology winners and Ahbar Trading runner-up; C Division - Gulf Foundationwinner and Muscat Pharmacy runner-up and D Division - Sabil al Khair winner and Al Hakeem Medicals runner-up.
