Bahrain: Gulf Air seeks Middle East flights expansion

(MENAFN) Bahraini Gulf Air was confirmed to be targeting Middle East routes to push for passenger boost and gain profits after major losses.

The carrier was declared to be launching an expansion project this year with 8 new destinations, with Middle East cities as the main focus.

The move is considered as part of the Bahrain-based carrier's plan to operate flights to more than 60 destinations by 2023.

Speaking to Reuters in Dubai, Deputy CEO Waleed Abdulhameed al-Alawi stated "at the moment we want to reestablish and affirm our position in the Middle East."
