Iran to recommence direct flights to Iraq's Erbil
(MENAFN) Iran was confirmed to be lifting the ban on its non-stop flights between its capital Tehran and the capital of Iraq, Erbil, setting April 27 as the date for the recommencement.
It comes after six months of a travel ban the regional Kurdistan government has been hit with by Baghdad and its neighbors.
Citing Iran's consul in Erbil Morteza Ebadi, ISNA news agency declared Mahan Air to be operating direct flights twice a week, on Tuesday and Wednesday, with a plan to boost the number.
The consul emphasized the significance of the move of bilateral cooperation to be strengthened and for boosting contact between businessmen for tourism growth.
