Iran human rights breach leads EU to extend sanctions
(MENAFN) The Council of the European Union has declared it implemented its decision to extend sanctions against Iran until April 13 of next year, after it committed "serious" breaches of human rights.
The Council issued a statement confirming the sanctions to affect 82 Iranians and an entity, having their assets frozen and suffering from travel restrictions.
The sanctions also include a block on exports of equipment manufactured with the ability to be employed in internal oppression, as well as equipment that might be used for spying on telecommunications.
The EU further announced the legal measures to be released in the Official Journal on April 13 of this year.
