Iraq: Hashd Shaabi fighters shoot two militants dead


(MENAFN) Two Islamic State (IS) members have died in by the government-backed Hashd Shaabi fighters in eastern Iraq, stopping an IS attack attempt from Syria into western Iraq.

A Hashd Shaabi declared that they have taken action based on a tip,as two Hashd Shaabi brigades crammed by army forces,went through Wadi Janat area in the northeast of the Iraqi eastern province of Diyala, devastating an IS hideout and shooting two militants dead.

A Hashd Shaabi force had also detained two IS militants on the same day, blocking an attempt to place a roadside explosive in Seniyah area in the west of the oil refinery town of Baiji,nearly 40 km north of Salahudin's regional capital Tikrit,according to the paramilitary group.
