(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, April 10: Ministry of Electricity and Water has asked Ministry of Commerce and Industry to fix new prices for the drinking water that is transported by tankers to houses, insisting that the new prices should be higher than current ones, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to informed sources, Ministry of Commerce and Industry recently held extended meetings with Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Electricity and Water in the presence of representatives of General Traffic Department during which this issue was discussed.

During the meetings, Ministry of Electricity and Water presented the abovementioned request, stressing that the ministerial decision on the prices of water tankers was issued a long time ago and has not been changed since then.

Meanwhile, sources revealed that Ministry of Commerce and Industry is currently working on amending a number of decisions and decrees concerning the automation of services provided to companies.

They explained that the aim of these amendments is to enhance the performance of Kuwait and improve the business environment. The new procedures will help develop the rank of Kuwait in the index of business environment issued by the World Bank. The intended procedures will facilitate completion of transactions and enhance competitiveness.
