In a letter to the National Assembly, the CSC stressed that the proposal is inappropriate because it entails halting public services for 10 days.
The Fatwa and Legislation Department seconded the commission's response and described it as unsuitable. It is worth mentioning that several such proposals have been submitted by lawmakers, including MP Majed Al-Mutairi.
Previously, the Legislation and Legal Affairs Committee rejected Fuhad's proposal and then referred it to the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee which requested for the opinion of the government; hence, the response of the CSC and Fatwa and Legislation Department.
