Rayyan municipality tops in building permits issuance last month

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Rayyan municipality topped the issuance of building permits in Qatar in March with 220 permits, the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) has said in its monthly bulletin.

This accounts for 31% of the total permits issued in the country, MDPS said.
Al Wakrah Municipality came in second place with 140 permits (20%), followed by Doha Municipality (127 permits - 18%) and Al Da'ayen Municipality (90 permits-13%).
The figures from other municipalities are Umm Slal (45 permits -6%), Al Sheehaniya (40 - 6%), Al Khor (30 - 4%) and Al Shamal (20 -3%).
In terms of type of permits issued, data indicates that the new building permits (residential and non-residential) constitute 58% (411 permits) of the total issued during March.
Some 51% (159 permits) of all new residential buildings permits were issued for constructing villas, MDPS noted.
