Kremlin worried about new Israeli raids on Syria

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Moscow, Apr 9 (Petra) –– The Kremlin said on Monday it was worried over Israeli air raids which were launched at dawn today on the Taifour base in the eastern countryside of the Syrian city of Homs.

Spokesman Dmitry Piskov said Russian President Vladimir Putin "had not yet consulted with the Israeli side in this respect." He also said that reports that the Syrian army had used chemical weapons in the city of Douma in the Eastern Ghouta near Damascus were "a provocation." Piskov said that Putin and his defense ministry had earlier cautioned against "preparations to make provocations in the area", and called for a detailed investigation into what happened.

"It is wrong and dangerous to draw any conclusions at this stage without enough information about the incident," he added.
