YouTube hit with child laws breach claims

(MENAFN) 23 consumer, child safety and privacy advocacy groups have hit YouTube with an allegation of breaking child protection laws in the United States.

YouTube was accused in the complaint issued with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) of gathering information from young people under the age of thirteen.

The complaint also claimed that YouTube was "skirting the law and profiting off of children without parents' knowledge or consent".

In response, Google issued a statement that emphasized how "YouTube is not for children".
