India: 22 passenger carriages separate from train


(MENAFN) India's Railway Ministry declared that a "ghastly" incident was barely avoided after 22 train with nearly 1,000 passengers abroad,were separated from the engine and kept moving backwards for miles before it finally stopped.

Fortunately,none of the passengers were wounded,according to a spokesman for the ministry"s eastern division.

Mishra confirmed" Something ghastly could have happened and it was averted by alert staff. Safety cannot be compromised" as " more heads are likely to roll."

He added:" Everybody in the railways (ministry) is aghast and shocked"
