Oman bans tobacco products ads
(MENAFN) Oman's Ministry of Information has settled on a resolution to prohibit tobacco advertising as well as its derivatives on social media and billboards.
The new decree was issued by Minister of Information Dr. Abdel Mon'em Al Hassani, imposing a ban on promoting tobacco in all media outlets, such as billboards and social media.
The decree No. 43/2018 was explained to be changing a clause in Article 36 of the Executive Regulations of the Press and Publications Law No.25/84.
It replaces the text with "prohibits the publication of advertisements of tobacco products or derivatives in all media, audio, visual, electronic and in any billboards, wherever they exist".
