Greek Prime Minister demands Turkey to release detained soldiers

(MENAFN) Turkey has received a call from Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to set free a couple of imprisoned soldiers.

In a statement to Documento newspaper, the prime minister urged that the jailed soldiers are not supposed to be "pawns to blackmail."

The minister demanded "human life and human freedom are not, and should not be, pawns to power games and blackmail."

Turkish state-run Anadolu news agency reported the soldiers to have been hit with "attempted military espionage" charges and accessing a prohibited military zone.
