CEDRE Conference grants over USD11bn pledges to Lebanon

(MENAFN) The CEDRE conference held in Paris was concluded with Lebanon receiving pledges greater than USD11 billion in loans and aid.

The objective behind the conference was to gather global aid for Lebanon's investment plan that looks for an economic growth.

Lebanon is aiming to make infrastructure renovations through the funds, along with boosting its declining economy after the Syrian war brought about one million refugees into its lands.

The conference has welcomed representatives from about forty countries as well as personnel from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, with an agreement of 90 percent low-interest loans.
