Iraqi President receives Jordan's new ambassador


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Baghdad, Apr.1 (Petra) -- Jordan's Ambassador in Baghdad, Montaser al-Zu'bi, on Sunday, delivered a copy of his credentials to Iraqi President Fuad Masum as the Kingdom's new ambassador to Iraq.

Ambassador al-Zu'bi renewed the Kingdom's commitment to cementing relations with Iraq and expanding joint cooperation to serve the interests of the peoples of the two countries.

Masum expressed appreciation to King Abdullah's role and efforts in enhancing relations of cooperation and understanding between the two countries, stressing the importance of boosting economic cooperation through the two countries' joint committee and developing various means of transportation, especially land routes.

He also underlined the importance of expanding trade and investment relations, as well as exchanging expertise and coordination in security fields.

He pointed out that Iraq welcomes a special Jordanian role in reconstruction projects of liberated areas and encourages Jordanian companies to invest in Iraq.
