Tunisia hosts Annual Meetings of IsDB
TUNIS, 1st April, 2018 (WAM) -- The 2018 Annual Meetings of the Jeddah-based Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB) kicked off Sunday in Tunis, and will continue until Thursday, April 5.
According to Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP), these meetings include : The 43rd Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB); the 25th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC); the 11th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) ; the 18th General Assembly of the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) and the 13th General Assembly of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC).
Fifty-seven ministers of economy and finance from member countries are attending the meetings, and more than 1,000 participants from abroad and Tunisia will represent several Arab, regional and international institutions and financial institutions, as well as experts from various economic sectors.
The aim is to provide policymakers in IsDB member countries with an ideal framework for addressing the challenges and opportunities of their economies.
Since its inception in 1975, the 57-member group has financed 8,195 development projects in various member countries, approximately US $ 125 billion, covering many vital sectors, particularly infrastructure.
Tunisia maintains a close and diversified relation with the IsDB, which has contributed to the financing of more than 35 projects worth about 3.5 billion dinars including, in particular, energy, infrastructure and human development as well as technical assistance worth 24 million dinars.
