Jordan- Bahrain arrests 3 for misuse of social media
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Manama, March 28 (Petra) -- Bahraini authorities arrested 3 citizens charged of misuse of social media after the Ministry of Interior decided to toughen penalties, pursue, and arrest all violators.
The Public Prosecution said that it received a number of complaints from the Department of Combating Cyber Crimes pertaining to misuse of social media. Intensive investigations managed to locate the perpetrators, then authorities arrested them and referred them to prosecution.
Complaints that are being investigated include disseminating pornography on social media, providing offensive accounts with peoples' information and their private lives to be disseminated, and uploading videos on (YouTube), which included insulting others.
The Public Prosecution decided to detain the suspects for questioning to be referred to judiciary.
