Manager accused of groping Filipina house cleaner in Dubai

(MENAFN- Asia Times) A 44-year-old Lebanese man has appeared in court after being accused of hugging and groping a Filipino maid he hired to clean his apartment in International City in Dubai.

In February, the Filipina was cleaning the Lebanese man's apartment and after taking a shower, he called the woman to his bedroom and asked her to give him a massage, Gulf News reported.

She refused and told him she had only been hired to clean his place. She claimed the man then hugged and groped her as he tried to talk her into giving him a massage.

She said the man offered to pay her 100 dirhams (US$27) if she gave him a massage, but she again refused. She left the apartment and reported the incident to police, who arrested the man shortly afterwards.

On Tuesday in the Dubai Court of First Instance, the man was charged wth groping the Filipina. The case was adjourned until April 24 when the man's lawyer will present arguments in his defense.
