Palestine to welcome Morocco's FM for 1st time

(MENAFN) Palestine will receive Morocco's Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita marking the first official visit of its kind for the minister.

Bourita will meet with the president and members of the Palestinian cabinet, invited by Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, as they will be discussing a variety of issues including the topic of Palestinian statehood.

Bourita is also anticipated to visit Jerusalem during his trip next week which is seen as part and parcel of Morocco's historical connection to the region under the instruction and supervision of King Mohammed VI who is the Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee.

Bourita's visit comes a few months after US President Donald Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel which will entail moving the US embassy there from Tel Aviv.
