Iraq:two troopers die in battle with armed men


(MENAFN) Regional police declared that a battle between the Iraqi military and militants, suspected to be related to Islamic State (IS) group,left two troopers dead and one injured.

Salahudin's Operations Command ,Colonel Mohammed al-Jubouri confirmed that the incident occurred when an armed man hiding at a valley clashed with troopers,who were operating a search campaign in Gan'ous area in east of the town of Shirqat,nearly 280 km north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.

Jubouri added that the clash engendered a heavy fight between both parties,as reinforcement soldiers and armored vehicles rushed to the site to evacuate valley from the insurgents.
