(MENAFN) A series of demonstrations have been held by Italians in a number of cities conveying solidarity with the Resistance of the Age in Afrin in the Pisa and Florence provinces, Kurdistan-based AFN website reported.
In Pisa province, a PKK flag was opened during a football match and messages were given for solidarity with Afrin.
Meanwhile in Florence, activists put up a banner for the Afrin resistance while Italian citizens who work in the CPA opened a banner protesting their own institution.
Turkey began its operation in the Afrin region on Jan. 20 and declared that it had taken the town of Afrin on Mar. 18. It says that it has killed over 3,700 fighters in the region over the course of the operation, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights estimates the true figure to be around 1,500.
