(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Al Khalij Commercial Bank (Al Khaliji) has extended support to Shafallah Centre for Persons with Disabilities, a Qatar Foundation for Social Work (QFSW)-affiliated centre.
Al Khaliji's partnership with Shafallah Centre falls under the bank's corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, guided by a main objective of helping the vulnerable and serving the common humanitarian causes, it has said in a statement.
Dr Mohamed Tolefat, director of Therapeutic Services at Shafallah Centre, expressed gratitude and said: 'This initiative is part of a continuous partnership process between the bank and Shafallah Centre in supporting projects for people with disabilities to integrate them into society and show their potentials and abilities, and make them a productive group that contributes to the process of community development and the overall development process in the nation.
Mohamed AlKawari , head of rewards and human resources services at Al Khalij, added: 'We at Al Khalij recognise the noble humanitarian role played by Shafallah Centre in helping people with disabilities, expand their options, protect their rights and invest in their capabilities by providing the right channels and programmes that allow them to effectively contribute in the community development.
'This charitable initiative is a humble attempt to give back to our loved ones, and the bank will continue to support humanitarian and social activities that benefit the Qatari society.
Al Khaliji stressed that it has an 'ongoing commitment to CSR, and supporting human development within the community is a 'cornerstone within Al Khaliji values, as it aims to achieve the Human Development pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Shafallah Centre has a deep-rooted history in humanitarian and voluntary work that focuses on the provision to help people with intellectual disabilities and autism by providing model services in Qatar, in the areas of education, rehabilitation, community awareness and human rights support.
